Iron Removal Systems

It has been our experience that many iron problems can be resolved simply by having a properly sized water softener with the right type of media used for the bed.  If, however, you have excessive iron, you may need to install an iron removal system before the softener.  These units can also be used independently of a softener to reduce iron content.  We currently carry two types on this site which are listed below.  Both systems are designed to attract the iron to the mineral bed and filter it out before it enters your home.  Eventually the media bed needs to be cleaned.  With a Fleck 5600 valve situated on top, the timer automatically backwashes the mineral bed, flushing the trapped iron particles down the drain.  This process assures that your family has fresh, clear water at every tap.
The media bed inside the tank does have a life span, and may need to be changed which is not a difficult job.  We sell the replacement media at a great price, and changing it is as easy as unscrewing the valve, hosing out the tank, and pouring in the new media.  If you need any help with this, just give us a call.
